I first discovered this amazing sauce/salsa when my friend Sarah brought it over for a girls’ night I was hosting. She made the simplest, most delicious appetizers with it; I couldn’t get enough of them! (Recipe follows, below.)
Robert Rothschild Farm’s Roasted Pineapple and Habanero Sauce is a delicious, multi-purpose sauce that can be used in an unlimited number of ways. It’s got a definite kick to it, but when paired with a cheese it won’t overwhelm your taste buds. The complex flavors are produced by a concoction of pineapples, habanero peppers, mangoes, onions, red bell peppers and yellow bell peppers. It’s also HFCS- and gluten-free. Use it:
- As a glaze for broiled fish or chicken
- As a dip with tortilla chips or chicken strips
- With meatballs in the crockpot
or, in a variety of recipes on the Robert Rothschild Farms website.
Our favorite is the simplest recipe, with cream cheese and crackers. I’d forgotten about Sarah’s delicious recipe (she made her with flavorful gluten-free rice crackers) until Finch’s and my mom brought a bottle of the sauce over on Christmas Day, along with some cream cheese and Ritz crackers. We also enjoy them with whole-grain crackers, as pictured here:
