So today is National Great American Pot Pie Day!
Who doesn’t remember heating up Chicken Pot Pies in the oven for dinner? This was, of course, before (gasp!) microwaves and it actually took 45 minutes; ours were frozen Banquet brand (you always had to use your fork to make the indention’s) and I always, always burned my tongue!
According to my research, pot pie recipes go as far back as the 1700’s.
One of the original comfort foods!
