We have some fun and amazing news to share with you today!
Our darling friend Betsy nominated finchnwren for a sweet award….the Sisterhood of the Word Bloggers Award! This is a fun way to recognize neat bloggers that you enjoy and want to share with others. (We really did take that geographical part of the award name literally, as you’ll see with our own nominations below!) Betsy really does have the cutest blog ever; she blogs at Happily Ever After, Etc. Do visit her blog; you can see the most beautiful and amazing DIY projects and home decor ever!
We’ve been invited to answer some fun questions, to tell you a little more about ourselves–maybe some things you’d never think to ask us. Here they are!
If you could have personally witnessed anything, what would you have seen? I would love to see a school of whales and their babies in the wild.
What was your favorite childhood Halloween costume? A kitty cat
What would your autobiography be called? Behind the Scenes: The Crazy Life of a Catalogue Queen
In your opinion, what’s the best invention ever? The Internet
What food would you never eat unless someone paid you (and maybe not even then)? Any organ meat!
What was the last thing you said out loud? “They just disconnected me!”
What’s your favorite adaptation of a book to a movie? Definitely the 6-hour BBC production of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. It just could not be more perfect!
Recite the first thing that comes to mind that you have memorized: quote, verse, poem, song lyrics, or something else. “The little toy dog is covered with dust, but sturdy and staunch he stands; and little toy soldier is red with rust, and his musket molds in his hands.” Eugene Field’s Little Boy Blue, the first poem I ever memorized (as a first grader!).
What story does your family always tell about you?
How about a story about Finch and me? When we were much younger we used to play Jacks with Snacks. We’d sit on the floor and play jacks together, and we always had a snack. Finch tended toward potato chips with mustard or gherkin pickles. We both would have a Dr Pepper. (Yes, I know that’s not so healthy!)
What’s the best thing about your mom? Your dad? Give a shout-out to the people who gave you life.
Our mom has the most generous spirit. And she’s also an incredible (ie, Vogue-level) seamstress!
Because Betsy nominated finchnwren for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award, now we get to nominate some of our own blogger favorites! We have got many bloggers who are on our awesome list. But here are some fabulous women we’d like to nominate today! They’re in alphabetical order):
