My thoughts

Rembrandt Stone keeps going back in time. Yet over and over, time, or maybe Fate, keeps beating the tar out of him. Loss. Grief. The very things he’s going to the past to prevent, happen…even though he’s there to stop them before they do. Why does Fate hate him so much? Or maybe it’s God. What does God have against Rem??

But back to the time travel. Maybe, just maybe, THIS is the time. That he’ll save the chief. Prevent murders. And keep Eve from…something horrible. In fact, this trip starts out with something very familiar.

You see, one thing that has worked for Rembrandt in all his trips back and forth across the timeline is accumulated knowledge. He knows the crimes. He knows the perpetrators. And, if he can get there in time (which, again and again, is the key phrase), he can save the lives.

There are a lot of things that will happen on this trip that Rem has never seen before. He’s making some huge changes. But will those impact his future and those he loves…or will time tick, tick, tick back to the same tragedies Rem is trying to prevent?

If you’re like me, by this time your heart has broken a few times by every devastating event that Rembrandt keeps experiencing. He is trying SO HARD. And, we understand; like Rem, we love them all! Burke. Eve. Zeke. Shelby. But despite his best efforts, things still go sideways. Rem doesn’t remember the key piece of advice he got ages ago; he is to go back ONLY to solve the cold crime case. NOT to change anything else. But as he says, in book 4: “Whatever.”

Blood from a Stone is going to capture your heart yet again. In many ways, Rem IS doing better. He is learning. Maturing. Making progress.

But he’s only got one book left to set things right.

Enjoy! –Wren
