“Room 1010” ~ a review & giveaway of an incredible story of a little girl & answered prayer (ends 11/26/22)

*this is a sponsored post*

Here’s a wonderful book that will encourage you and remind you of the miracles of prayer, as mom Billye Survis and cowriter Brenda E. Cortez tell the story of Billye’s daughter Elynn’s accident. It’s a remarkable story told with honesty (and all the mom feelings you’d imagine) by the pair. I received a copy of this sweet book from the author and FrontGate Media. Here’s more about the book, plus a giveaway you can enter to win Room 1010 for yourself!

About the book

When Elynn Survis was ten years old, she and her brother Ethan were riding their bikes in their neighborhood when a freak accident occurred. She was brought home, but her symptoms worsened and Elynn was taken to a children’s hospital and admitted–during the height of Covid-19, when only one family member could accompany her inside. It became clear that surgery was necessary to repair the traumatic injury–surgery which could leave her with lifelong health issues and complications. Or is there another way?

Room 1010 is the story of how people around the world were rallied to pray for this little girl–in a remarkable and miraculous true story. Coauthored by Elynn’s mother, Billye Survis and Brenda E. Cortez, Elynn’s journey will remind you that God answers prayers; and often, in ways we’d never expect.

And about its author, Billye Survis

Billye Survis was born and raised in rural Wisconsin. After spending a few years working and traveling, she settled back in Wisconsin where she met her husband Dan. Billye has spent the last twenty years helping to build, grow, and lead talent acquisition teams, where she is able to share her passion of helping others. Billye and Dan still reside in Wisconsin with their two children, Ethan and Elynn.

You can read more about the Survis family’s story at their website.

My thoughts

Do you ever read a book, and the experience of the believers in it transports you to a time when you saw amazing faith and answered prayers happen? That is exactly what I felt as I read Room 1010. The Survis family’s experience took them out of what we’d consider regular life, into a frightening experience when their precious ten-year-old daughter was terribly injured (on the inside, where it wasn’t visible, other than externally with a bruise on the skin). Emergency care. Surgeries. Some potentially awful life-long prognoses. Potential months in the hospital.

And yet, God.

As I read Elynn’s story, penned by her loving mama, I was reminded of, and encouraged by, so many Bible verses. Here are two of them:

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:14, The Holy Bible

and,

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Matthew 18:19-20, The Holy Bible

Life is hard sometimes, isn’t it? Especially when it’s our own children who are suffering. We would do *anything* to be the ones who are going through the hard things instead of our little ones! I so often forget that God must certainly feel that way about us when we are going through suffering. He made all of us–and how His heart must grieve when we suffer!

We don’t always know what we should be doing when we’re suffering, much less what we need to be doing when our kids suffer. We try to love them, and support them. To help them to make (or make ourselves, depending on their ages) decisions that will be good ones. And yes, we pray. Constantly. We ask our friends to pray. We turn to the One who sees everything and ask Him to help our babies.

This is what Billye did. And in Room 1010, we get an intimate viewpoint of the suffering both Elynn (and her mama, as she watched and held her daughter) endured. But oh, the faith. And the prayers.

Room 1010 reminded me that we can all come to God as we pray with the faith of a child. Even if our faith is as tiny as a mustard seed! And that God still does miracles today.

“Where Is God In This?” ~ book review

#sponsor #partner

Is “Where are you, God?” a question that ever resounds in your heart? If your answer is “yes,” as mine was, you’ll want to hear about Landra Young Hughes’ honest, helpful, and heart-touching new book, Where Is God In This? Thanks to Landra and JustRead Publicity Tours, I was able to read (and highlight!) this wonderful book. Let me tell you about it!

From the publisher:

Title: Where Is God in This?
Authors: Landra Young Hughes and Holly Crawshaw
Publisher: Baker Books
Release Date: October 18, 2022
Genre: Christian Living

Life is unfair. Bad things happen to good people. Not all dreams come true. We lose people. We fail people. And when we encounter the inevitable struggles of life, we may be tempted to ask God Why me? as we try to reconcile our pain with God’s promises. But a far more helpful and life-enriching question for us to ask God is What are you trying to teach me in this?

Tackling ten common struggles, such as isolation, fear, rejection, failure, insecurity, temptation, and more, Landra Young Hughes shows you how to have peace even when life doesn’t make sense. Speaking with great empathy born from her own losses and years in ministry, Hughes doesn’t suggest you “get over” your hard times. Instead, she helps you recognize that, while you will always live in a broken world this side of heaven, your pain has much to teach you about God and yourself. With her empathetic help, you’ll discover how to grow through grief and thrive despite adversity.

My rich experience reading Where Is God In This?

So I have to admit, ANYONE who starts a chapter with these words:

“Y’all, I give you my word, I am not a pyromaniac. But I almost burned down my parents’ house the other day. This is a totally true story.”

Landra Young Hughes, Where Is God In This?

…is an author I want to hear more from.

It *isn’t* that I like to read true crime stories about arson. (Just no. I don’t like true crime books. AT ALL.) What those sentences told me? That Landra is honest about her own life and struggles–and that she can tell her stories with great warmth and humor. Which encourages me so much as I read a book about pain and the issues of life that we wish we didn’t have to deal with. Where Is God In This? had so much to share with its readers about those deep issues (including failure, forgiveness, addictions, loss, and more). Isn’t it encouraging when an author can speak about human beings’ troubles in ways that make you want to keep reading?

Sometimes, when we’re in the middle of suffering, we have an understanding somewhere in our hearts that we can make it to the other side. We just don’t always (or often!) know HOW. (I can tell you from personal experience that gutting it out is not necessarily a healthy way.) And yet faithful friends, wise mentors or counselors, or members of our communities can offer us practical ways. Where Is God In This? completely offers this! But that practical help was hard-won by Landra. She lost a beloved sister to an addiction. She is a PK (preacher’s kid), is in ministry, has overcome her own eating disorder, and is a busy mom and wife. She has experienced devastating pain, pressure, and loss…

…and yet. And yet God was there for her–and she held on to Him, while being utterly honest with Him about her own pain and struggles. This, at its heart, is what makes this book SO worth reading. It’s loving, kind, funny, and so full of the kind of help I wish I had had years ago! But it is also something that is incredibly useful and comforting to me today. I can apply it to my life looking back AND in the present; and I can remember that our God is a God we can trust. And know that He has our hearts in His hand and beautiful intentions for our lives.

I highlighted so many passages that I want to incorporate into my journey. Here are some of my favorite ideas:

  • “Have you lost your health? Have you lost your dream? Have you lost faith in someone you trusted or faith in the entire country?…I lost…But I know my God. And I know he is good. Because of that, I can be certain that he will not waste my suffering. He will not waste any suffering–including yours.”
  • “In Mark 11:23, we read about the kind of belief we’re capable of through Christ: “What I’m about to tell you is true. Suppose someone says to this mountain, ‘Go and throw yourself into the sea.’ They must not doubt in their heart. They must believe that what they say will happen. Then it will be done for them.”…Let’s start speaking God’s Word into our struggles. Instead of blaming him or withdrawing from him, let’s partner with him by believing what his Word says.”
  • “If you’re feeling burned out right now, take a beat…Finally, Jesus, perhaps struck by empathy, issued an invitation to all those listening: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover from your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me–watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matt. 11:28-30 MSG) There it is–our situation to the burnout epidemic. Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out? Jesus says, Come to me.”
  • “One way to reframe our opinions of others is to recognize that we all value different things. Just because someone’s values vary from our own doesn’t mean they’re bad people. It just means that they have different priorities.”
  • “So if Jesus required rest, we require rest.”

My own personal journey, recently, has helped me to focus a bit more on two things, the essences of which seem to run throughout Where Is God In This? One of them is how important it is that we get some rest; so important for us to be able to see clearly, to make good decisions, to love our people. The other is something that makes my heart grow warmer: how tender and kind Jesus really is. Even (and maybe especially) when we are suffering.

If those are things that speak to you? Watch for Jesus’s words and actions in Scriptures. And, maybe read Landra Young Hughes’ lovely book. What an encouragement!

Enjoy! –Wren

My thoughts

Matters of the Heart starts off with a bang. Both Hans and Katie are in situations not of their own choosing, and feeling a lot of pain as a result. Both think that, “if only I were doing” something different, their lives would be amazing! Katie’s desire is to open and run an orphanage for the women and children displaced by the Civil War. Hans would like to build and create with wood–and to get away from his sister-in-law’s bitter tongue.

Heidi Gray McGill has written a beautiful “but God” novel. Her characters have journeys ahead of them; physical, mental, and emotional, for sure, but also spiritual.

“When you are relying on your own strength, it’s fear. When you are relying on God’s strength, it’s reverence….The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”

Reverend Jenkins, “Matters of the Heart,” by Heidi Gray McGill

What a wonderful, thoughtfully written book. Heidi doesn’t rush her characters through either a romance, vocational paths, or their individual spiritual journeys. That makes them feel so real, so honest. I love how the author doesn’t try to tie everything up in a bow or rush the story. She includes real thoughts, real emotions, and honest struggles as she walks Hans and Katie (and the secondary characters) through their seasons of life. They feel so real; and their challenges on their roads to faith and life are those we can definitely imagine (or maybe, that we ourselves have even been through!).

Matters of the Heart will engage you, make you think (and laugh), and cause you to hope for a happy ending for its wonderful characters. And, I believe your faith will be encouraged and blessed. It’s a lovely book, and one I definitely recommend.

Precious, Christmas-themed PJs–Holy Pals (a review & giveaway, ends 11/20/22)

#sponsor #partner

Hello darlings!

I have the most wonderful family, faith-filled pajamas to tell you about–and the fantastic company who makes them, Holy Pals. I received the most precious pair for myself, thanks to Holy Pals and FrontGate Media. And you can also enter to win a pair for yourself, or for one of your family members (either parents or kiddos!) These really might be the most charming faith-based clothing items I’ve ever seen.

About Holy Pals

So. I LOVE this company. Their mission is this:

  • Give children the opportunity to draw near to Christ, and to help parents teach their children about their faith.
  • To shine a light on child-focused charities in need of support, raising awareness of their worthy causes and supporting them alongside our customers.

Every pajama sale supports the Littlest Lamb Orphanage, a privately funded orphanage in Egypt. They have built a home for orphaned and at-risk children who have lost parents to death, imprisonment, or abandonment. The Littlest Lamb provides these children with everything they need to thrive – shelter, food, clothing, education and most importantly A FAMILY that loves them.

George, Jen, Nazareth, and Nile (pictured in the adorable family photos above) want people to know that Jesus is the reason for the season–and the pajama prints sweetly present that focus. Holy Pals has created this clothing to do just that. As they say, “Keeping Jesus the reason for the season in fun matching family Christmas pajamas focused on the true story of Christmas!”

We pray that Jesus is born inside the hearts of all who wear these pajamas. And that they may witness to their family and friends His amazing love.

George, Jen, Nazareth and Nile from Holy Pals

The Holy Pals pajamas:

  • are made from 100% soft and cozy cotton
  • the knit cotton is both very soft and comfortably stretchy
  • are consciously sourced and produced in India
  • are snug-fitting for women and children and loose-fitting for men
  • have a small label stitched on the right arm of each pair of Holy Pals pajamas, with the verse reference of the print
  • are available not only in Christmas prints, but also in prints featuring Easter, Palm Sunday, Esther, Noah, David & Goliath, Jonah, Adam & Even, and more

The Christmas patterns are pictured below, in clockwise starting from top left: Christmas Classic, Starry Night, Joy to the World, and Away in a Manger.

My Holy Pals pajamas experience

I received a pair of Holy Pals pajamas in Christmas Classic, the top left pattern above. I chose the men’s pajamas in size L for myself. I love the women’s pajamas pictured above, but I have had numerous abdominal surgeries over the years and felt that a looser fit might be better for me. I am so happy with my choice!

I wear, most of the time, a women’s M (sizes 8-10), and I am just over 5’7″ tall. But since the men’s pajama bottoms have a drawstring closure (with light elastic) on the waistband, I knew that even if the bottoms were a bit big, I’d be able to pull the drawstring closer and have them fit well. And, while the pajamas were large on me before I washed them, they did shrink just enough to create a perfect fit.

When I launder my own clothes, I *always* wash them in cold water, and I usually hang my shirts and pants to dry after wrinkle-releasing them by running them in the dryer for about 10 minutes. (This is because, over a lifetime of experience, I’ve had sleeves and leg lengths in my clothing end up too short, if I didn’t.) I followed that pattern after turning the pajamas inside out (as recommended) to wash. After the wrinkle release, I hung both the top and the pants to dry.

When I tried them on the next day, there had been a slight shrinkage, which is not surprising since the knit fabric is 100% cotton. But that really just helped them to size perfectly for my frame, in both length, width, and circumference. The quality fabric looked as rich and lovely after the washing as it did before.

Also, since I’m a woman and these are men’s pajamas, I wanted to mention the fly. There is a button halfway between the top and the bottom of the fly, so they felt modest and didn’t have an open gap. I didn’t think of that to begin with, but I appreciated it when I wore them!

…and my final impressions

First, the comfort. Interestingly, I noticed that ALL my pajamas and nightgowns (both winter and summer) are 100% cotton, and the Holy Pals pjs fit right into that preference. I gravitate towards cotton for sleepwear because it’s just so comfortable and doesn’t get too hot. The Holy Pals cotton is smooth, stretches in all directions, and is wonderfully comfortable on the skin. The fit was great as well. The men’s top fit loosely but really nicely, and the bottoms were so comfortable; cozy, but not too tight or constraining anywhere. I guess I felt a bit like Goldilocks–everything was “just right!”

Second, the look. The printed fabric is SO darling. The cartoon drawings of the Christmas Classic design have a plethora of Nativity personages (Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the Three Kings, an angel, and even animals–a camel, a donkey, and a sheep!). Baby Jesus even has an ichthus fish on his swaddling clothes! It is joyful and just so pleasing on the eyes and to the spirit. Really, each one of the designs is wonderful and will provide tons of opportunities to talk with children about Jesus and our spiritual heritage as believers. And, they’ll provide the most adorable family Christmas jammie pics!

Third, the craftsmanship. I have a high appreciation for exceptional seams and tailoring work (just ask me about my mom’s hand-sewn creations!). So, when I see beautiful craftsmanship in clothing, I just value it all the more. The seams, buttonholes, hems, and plackets are superbly sewn. (The men’s pj’s white shirt placket even has the Christmas Classic fabric facing out!) The pajamas are just incredibly well-made and should last for many years to come.

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ ”

Matthew 19:14, The Holy Bible

Fourth, the company. I just love their vision for providing a quality product for families that will provide comfort, great fit, and beautiful moments for spiritual training. I so appreciate their donations to the orphanage in Egypt. How wonderful that their products can go to little ones whom Jesus describes as precious and loved.

“Saved by Grace” ~ a Pure Flix Original Film (& you can win!)

Pure Flix Original Film’s latest contribution is a moving series called Saved By Grace. I received a screener copy of this new series to watch, and I’m excited to share my opinions with you. Plus, you can enter to win a Pure Flix streaming service membership!

About Saved By Grace

Here’s what Pure Flix says: “…watch the new Pure Flix Original series “Saved by Grace” that starts streaming November 6. New episodes drop every Sunday! Here’s the synopsis: There are no chance meetings or coincidences in life. Angels are amongst us and God has sent them on a mission to intercede on behalf of whispered prayers. Every encounter presents a new opportunity to change your approach to life.

This fun, faith- and love-filled series deals with real-life issues humans face every day. Angels Grace and Jeremiah get to be God’s answers to His children’s answered prayers–in ways that not only make a difference but will encourage and bless viewers.

From Cameron Arnett, who plays the angel Jeremiah: “Angels are still relevant today – they walk amongst us and are here to serve us and to bring about God’s intent in our daily lives.”

And from Jennifer Taylor, who plays the eponymous angel Grace: “All the situations highlight current problems, but at the core, they are heart issues we’ve been dealing with since the fall, and I hope viewers realize they aren’t alone in those struggles.”

New episodes air on Pure Flix every Sunday, just in time for family viewing as the work week begins.

Watch the Saved By Grace trailer here:

My thoughts

Oh my heart!

Don’t we all need to be reminded on the regular that our Father God loves and adores us–and is working for our good? I know that I do! Really, just watching the news most days is enough to put us into spirals of fear and worry. And if it’s not current events doing their best to freak us out, it’s the challenges we face daily as employees, friends, parents, spouses, sisters, or moms. (Or dads.) Life is rough more often than we’d like.

And yet.

Pure Flix’s newest Original, Saved By Grace, is a wonderful reminder not only that God sees His children in the midst of all their troubles, but also that His ear is ever poised to hear their cries for help, and their prayers. In Saved By Grace, God sends angels Grace and Jeremiah to help those who’ve asked for His provision, His help, His intervention. The series’ moments range from humorous, to heart-wrenching, to moving. And not least of all, the moments encourage us and can even help to build our faith.

I just delighted in the warmth and kindness that the angels, and even the show itself, are determined to extend to those that they help and even us on the other side of the screen, as the viewers. I was reminded and reassured about God’s love for me and for everyone, really; that His presence and His answers are just a breath away. And maybe they’ll even come in the form of angels!

Do watch this show. Start with episode 1. And settle in for a fun, loving, and encouraging show, peopled by wonderful actors who make the characters (and their experiences) seem very real. What a blessing!

Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!

Last, here’s a wonderful Pure Flix blog post related to this new show…

“How to Ask God for Forgiveness,” on the Pure Flix blog, talks about forgiveness as one of the key themes in the first two Saved By Grace episodes. Do you ever wonder how to forgive? Sometimes it’s easy, and sometimes it’s hard; but it’s definitely something God asks us to do. Of course He set the most phenomenal example of forgiveness ever, in letting His own son Jesus die on the cross to pay the price for our sins.

“Word of Honor” ~ a Revell Reads review

#sponsor #partner

I’ve discovered a wonderful author who’s new to me, courtesy of Revell Reads, who provided book 2 of Hallee Bridgeman’s Love & Honor series for me to read: Word of Honor. It’s a fantastic thriller set in both American states and international countries–and its suspense and comradery between its characters endeared the book to me. Let me tell you more about this book!

About Word of Honor

FBI Agent Lynda Culter is brilliant. Strong. Capable. But while she and her partner are out on a simple operation in Alaska, the two are taken captive by members of the very eco-terrorist organization they’ve come to arrest. The op crashes and burns, and worse; Jack is murdered while Lynda is immobilized. She is rescued, but Jack is gone.

However, the FBI, and its fellow intelligence organizations the Department of Homeland Security and the Central Intelligence Agency, aren’t willing to give up. Because Green War’s attacks on oil pipelines–and the humans who live around them–aren’t focused on only one geographical area. And things are starting to escalate.

The intelligence joint task force decides that the best way to find the terrorists and stop their plot is to insert Lynda, who’s seen the terrorists face-to-face, into an Army Special Forces unit, and send them to Istanbul, where they believe the group is currently operating. The only potential hitch in this plan? Lynda is to play the role of the wife of a tourist couple. And the man playing her husband is the man who dumped her cruelly in college.

My thoughts

Wow!

Word of Honor starts with a bang. And the story continues to move along at a fascinating pace until a conclusion that no one would expect–but that readers won’t be able to put down until the turn of the final page. There’s world travel (albeit with destinations chosen by those in charge, not those traveling the routes). Betrayal. Capture. Interrogation.

The protagonists: Lynda: A bright and capable agent, who’s especially skilled at discerning plans within plans, and mapping out the attacks that those plans could likely lead to. A woman who loves her country and who’s honored to serve it; but also, a woman whose heart was broken terribly by Army weapons specialist Bill Sanders, ten years before, while they were both in college.

And Bill. Part of a team who works together like clockwork, who have each other’s backs and are all exceptionally trained in warfare. And yes, Bill did break Lynda’s heart all those years ago. He had his reasons. But that was all before God pursued Bill, drew him to Himself, and set him on the Army service road he’s traveled since then.

Hallee Bridgeman can tell a story and build a remarkable tale of suspense. Her characters are devoted to one another, and many of them, to God, and to faithfully serving not only their country but each other. *This* is what faithful friendship, loving service, and actual heroism can look like; and Lynda, Bill, and their comrades will capture your heart. You will cheer them on and hope for the best, and you’ll be very likely to stay up late reading to the end!

(And then, like me, you’ll be adding Hallee’s other books in the series to your TBR, or to-be-read, pile!)

Enjoy! –Wren

And a bit from the book:

If you’re a fan of books like Tolkien’s LOTR books, I think that Quest of Fire: Desperation might be right up your alley! Here’s a bit from the book to whet your appetite:

“Mia?” he tried again and reached out and gently put his hand on her shoulder.

“No, I’m fine.” She evaded his touch. “I can’t believe he was right. We were still celebrating the victory that turned back the Monarch and guaranteed Cromwell’s safety for good. But somehow, we’ve lost everything. Our safety. The Viceroy. Father. They’re just gone.”

“We don’t know that for sure. Both the Viceroy and your father could have been in the back of the lines; maybe they escaped during a strategic withdrawal.”

She shot him a glance, eyes reddened with suppressed tears. “Father doesn’t retreat, and he would never let his men fight dangers he would not face himself.”

Thomas looked at the ground. He did know that, and could respect the Baron for it. “Whatever our differences, your father is an honorable man.”

“Was,” she corrected. “Was honorable. No one else escaped this. This is the worst slaughter in Ecthelowall’s history. I can see the bodies of pages and nursemaids. What kind of monster kills them?” A tear slid down her cheek, and she wiped it away, but she was breaking; a faint moan escaped her lips.

Running his hand through his hair, Thomas scanned the area. They had to hurry, but he knew he couldn’t force her on. Heartbreak has a way of numbing the body to the survival instincts outward injuries excite. He wrapped his arms around her and felt her grip him fiercely. She sobbed into his chest. Thomas rubbed her back gently, murmuring soothing sounds.

After a few moments, Mia pushed away and regarded him warily. Her voice choked as she asked, “What are you doing?”

He raised his brows. That was a delicate question. She might fall apart if he revealed his belief that her father was gone. But as he looked into her pain-stricken eyes, he recalled how he’d longed for honesty in his time of hurt. “Um, I guess I’m consoling you.”

She shook her head. “We can’t even stand being in the same room together. Why would you want to console me?”

Suspicion was heavy in her voice and her tone much louder now. Whatever she thought he was up to, it was clearly blinding her to the precarious position they were in. He held up his hands placatingly. “Easy. I meant you no ill. I just understand, is all.”

“Understand? Understand what?”

He sighed. “What it’s like to lose a father. To lose everything.”

My thoughts about Deadly Conclusion

Secrets. They often cover pain; or tragic events; or just something that their owner wants to put out of their mind.

Deadly Conclusion opens with working dog trainer Keely Lambert answering a call with her newly-trained German shepherd, Titan. A little boy is missing from a large, wooded park. When she and Titan are out searching for 6-year-old Conner, she’s reunited with the man she loved–whom she hasn’t seen in ten years.

Beau Gardner is an agent for the Tennessee Board of Investigation; and yes. He walked out on the young woman he loved ten years ago, without a trace or a call. And now here he is with her again, face-to-face. He has some forgiveness to ask for, and time to make up for. But frightening events are happening. And they don’t add up to an obvious suspect, or connections with the people involved: an elderly woman, suffering from disease; a little boy; Keely, and her coworker Adam. What is the connection between these people, the past, and a concealed secret?

Remember the old saying, ‘Never trust someone your dog doesn’t like?’

Keely Lambert, Deadly Conclusion

I have to tell you, there isn’t a Kathy Harris book that I’ve read that I didn’t love. The characters in Deadly Conclusion won my heart from the get-go. Keely: efficient, smart, disciplined, faithful to her family, the Lord, and the dogs she is training. Beau: a good man with family brokenness behind him, that impacted his choices; but who loves God and his people; and, a fantastic law enforcement agent. And the two of them together with quite a history.

The past really doesn’t ever go away, does it? Beau and Keely are discovering that in spades. The past of broken, unhealed relationships. Unforgiveness and pain. Flashbacks of a traumatic event. The loss of a beloved parent…and maybe more. Kathy Harris has crafted an incredible thriller (with a teeny tiny bit of clean romance tucked in) that will capture your heart and keep you holding (and later on, gripping) the book in your hands until you’ve turned the very last page.

It will give you chills, just as it did me. And you’ll be rooting for Beau and Keely–and for the very bad bad guy to get what he deserves. Don’t miss Deadly Conclusion!
