FrontGate Media connected me with a fantastic organization that’s devoted to helping people learn a simple, clear way to share the gospel–and enable them to do so. And now I can share about GO MVMT with you, and let you know how you can get your own free GO MVMT Action Kit.
Do you ever feel as though you don’t really know how to share the gospel? Or that other people might do it better, or that you need the gift of evangelism to share the Good News properly? GO MVMT is ready and waiting to share the resources with you that will help you overcome those concerns, and step forward!
Who (and What?) is GO MVMT ?
Here’s what you can find on the GO MVMT website on the “About Us” section:
Go Movement is a global collaboration of individuals, churches, and ministries working together to catalyze a world-wide groundswell of evangelism! The month of May is our catalyst.
“GO Movement has the potential to be a movement of God’s people and the Gospel like never before in the history of the Church.”
Dave Gibson, GO MVMT USA Director and Global Taskforce Pastor of Missions & Evangelism at Grace Church of Eden Prairie, MN
And, GO MVMT is really a collaboration of some fantastic Christian organizations and you can see it in their leadership team, with individuals from CRU, Campus Alliance, Dare 2 Share, Grace Church, National Latino Evangelical Coalition, National Day of Prayer, and more. Their purpose is to help people to share the good news. They understand that people may not know how, or to feel comfortable doing so. They have created this wonderful and free downloadable kit that will help anyone!
GO MVMT has developed a simple, clear action plan for sharing the gospel that I believe can equip ANYONE, no matter how inexperienced or shy or afraid, to share the good news with others! GO MVMT’s 3-point plan to sharing the gospel is short, sweet, and easy to remember and to do:
- Prayer
- Care
- Share
To begin: start with #1, Prayer!
This wonderful kit starts everyone off with prayer. First, ask God to show you WHO you can share the gospel with. Make a list of at least 5 individuals. The slim column on the white sheet above then helps you with some ideas of what you can pray for them. (You can even trim that down into a bookmark, which you can keep in your Bible or another book you read frequently. Then, when you see it, you can pray for your people!) The GO MVMT card on the right of that column has 5 lines for you to write your names in. That will remind you to pray for your five people, each day.
I love that GO MVMT starts with prayer. I’m reminded of two verses as I consider this section. First, 2 Timothy 2:3-4 says this about God’s people lifting up prayers: “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” And second, 1 John 5:14-15 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” Those are amazing encouragements for us to pray as we begin this journey!
Then: #2, Care
GO MVMT then encourages us to look for opportunities to care for and extend friendship to the people we are praying for. How can we extend God’s love to them? Is it by a meal, or an invitation to get coffee? What about helping them with something physical they need assistance with? As 1 John 3: 18 says, “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” Sometimes our actions can communicate even more than our words can.
All these build to #3: Share
What can we share? I love how GO MVMT puts it: “Their story, my story, and God’s story.” We can ask them to share what they think about spiritual things, and how those impact their own lives and wants or needs. We can tell our own story, after we ask if we may share it. And then, as God opens the door, we can share His story: the Good News, the gospel. Do you feel nervous about this? You can visit the GO MVMT website for training, ideas, videos, and Bible verses to help. There is even a personality quiz you can take that can help you understand more about the ways that sharing the gospel might work best for you.
I so appreciate how the GO MVMT materials and site have connected us in the digital age to ways we can share Christ. Of course, we can do personal evangelism one-on-one, or in person; speaking to another face to face. But you can also share your faith and God’s story online!! You can share Christ via social media; your blog, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, or any other digital platform. What an incredible thought and way to fulfill the Great Commission. And God Himself promises to help us–and even tells us where we can share the gospel, in Acts 1:8, which reads: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Surely we can reach “the ends of the earth” today in ways never imagined even 50 years ago through the internet. Now that is truly amazing!
So how can you get your own GO MVMT Action Kit?
The GO MVMT Action Kit has everything in it that you’ve seen above in my photos. You can download it and print it in your own home (I recommend printing on card stock, just because one page can be cut into a bookmark and another, you’ll be writing on and using as you pray. The card stock will help those be a durable resource!). Just click on the link below and you’ll access the kit page. And remember, it’s free to you!
Enjoy! And share the good news! –Wren
