Haunted by tragedies and failures, Anargen and Jason each struggle to find their way. Night has fallen in the Lowlands and neither teen has an easy road ahead. Jason meanwhile must find Aria and her grandfather to help unite the Knights of Light from across the Lowlands against his brother, Dorian. About the Author
Brett Armstrong has been exploring other worlds as a writer since age nine. Years later, he still writes, but now invites others along on his excursions. He’s shown readers haunting, deep historical fiction (Destitutio Quod Remissio), scary-real dystopian sci-fi (Tomorrow’s Edge), and dark, sweeping epic fantasy (Quest of Fire). Every story is a journey of discovery and an attempt to be a brush in the Master Artist’s hand. Through dark, despair, light, joy, and everything in between, the end is always meant to leave his fellow literary explorers with wonder and hope. Always busy with a new story, he also enjoys drawing, gardening, and spending time with his wife and son.

My thoughts about Resurgence of Dawn
Here is a book which will touch you with the utter humanness of its protagonists. As a follower of Jesus, although I don’t dress myself in visible armor and carry a sword that can be seen, I can so relate to the struggles that protagonist Jason experiences. (There’s also alternate timeline protagonist, Anargen.) To heed the call of the High King. To follow Him in the deepest of trials, and to listen only to His voice.
In the midst of an exciting adventure drama (think “The Lord of the Rings” mixed with the Narnia books–and perhaps, the first “Mission Impossible” film), characters deal with the issues of faith that not only impact their daily lives but the ultimate successes of their quests. The question is always, “Will you hear and listen to the voice of the High King?” Jason has known a life that has embraced knightly service to Him. But moments of unbelief not only hurt him but those around him; not to mention, perhaps the quest itself. Yet, like Peter of the Bible, Jason again embraces his knighthood of Light and rejoins the quest. In so doing, he must prove himself again to his former companions (after fighting hard to even get back to them).
I’m the servant of the High King of all realms. In death and life, bound to my oaths. Which I must honor, whatever the penalties incurred.”
Resurgence of Dawn, p.. 236
But can his betrayed companions forgive him, and embrace him again, as the High King has done? That is Jason’s hope; and for them to complete the Quest together, reconciliation is vital. Anargen faces his own battles; dealing with failure, fear, and the supernatural beings who love to intensify those feelings for their own benefit and for Anargen’s defeat.
May the High King’s favor rest upon you.”
Resurgence of Dawn, p. 163
This book would make a fantastic read for families and teens and older children. There’s adventure and fantasy; some scary and powerful enemies and opponents; and protagonists who are so relatable and who are walking out their own stories of faith. Resurgence of Dawn is exciting but also encouraging;, reminding readers that our daily goals are to walk with our God and follow His voice. Wonderful!
Enjoy! –Wren

thank you for commenting! 🙂
Sounds like a good book.
Good and unique!
I added the book to Goodreads, but it won’t give me the points.
Audrey, I remember this happened before. Could it be a Goodreads issue? Do you have a Goodreads account? Is it the same name or email address? I am trying to think of why it wouldn’t show up on the form. I will let JustRead know. If you think of any anomaly like I mentioned or something else…let me know! I’m sorry you’re having this issue though!
I had another thing with Just Reads where it said ‘Nonce Verification Failed’ or something like that when I commented. Now this. I personally think they are out to get me at Just Reads. Here are the links to my accounts, because Just Reads doesn’t care if I have problems. Some people comment, “Sounds like a good book” and they win all the time. https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/38741043-audrey-stewart https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/38741043
